MTN Ghana Joins the Global Executive Council of the Project Management Institute, Advancing Africa’s Project Excellence

 

 

The Capital Projects Group (CPG) of MTN Ghana is pleased to announce its induction into the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Global Executive Council (GEC), an exclusive group that includes the best-performing companies in the world for project leadership, governance, and change.

 

By joining the PMI GEC, MTN Ghana joins a select group of international organisations that are influencing the future of project management in Africa, including major players in the fields of technology, aerospace, energy, healthcare, and telecommunications.

Experienced experts will represent MTN Ghana on the Global Executive Council, including: William Tetteh, the Principal Representative and Chief Transformation Officer Bernard Blewusi Agblevor, the second representative and coordinator for Project Fibre Network Enterprise Portfolio Management Office Senior Manager Jonas Nanzoninge Project Facilities Implementation Senior Manager Eunice Nelson-Cofie Senior Manager of Transport Implementation, Jerry Nyamekye With its wealth of experience and cutting-edge knowledge, MTN Ghana contributes to global discussions on the future of project delivery as a member of GEC, assisting in the development of more impact-driven, inclusive, and agile approaches to change management—not just for Africa, but for the entire globe.

In an official statement, the Project Management Institute welcomed MTN Ghana to the PMI Global Executive Council, a global think tank of forward-thinking companies dedicated to promoting project management excellence.

As the telecom giant of the region continues to lead the way in global innovation, MTN Ghana’s admission represents yet another turning point for Africa.

“We are excited about MTN Ghana’s distinct viewpoints and inventiveness, as well as the ongoing impact of its efforts in influencing Africa’s digital future.”

Mr. William Tetteh, the Chief Transformation Officer for MTN Ghana and the main representative of the Global Executive Council, commented on the company’s induction to GEC, saying, “This recognition confirms that MTN Ghana’s project delivery standards, governance frameworks, and execution capability are globally benchmarked.” “It strengthens our desire to be at the forefront of value realization, project strategy, and connectivity.”

There are certain advantages to joining the PMI GEC. In 2025, MTN Ghana will get more than USD68,000 in direct value from PMI, which will include leadership development programs for top workers, free and subsidized premier training, and access to regional and international executive events.

Project management maturity evaluations, job boards, premium community access, submitting important projects for international recognition, holding regional workshops, and testing cutting-edge technology are further benefits recurring features and project management in PMI’s worldwide reports.

Additionally, MTN Ghana will work with PMI on joint research projects and advisory boards. The fact that MTN Ghana was admitted to the GEC is evidence of its unwavering commitment to project management excellence.
