The Founder and Leader of Open Arms Ministry, St. Sark, has launched a scathing attack on the Founder and Leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah, over comments attributed to him cursing anyone who votes for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking at a press briefing in Kumasi today, St. Sark did not mince words, describing Rev. Owusu Bempah as a “crook” and questioning his credibility as a true man of God.
According to St. Sark, the alleged curse pronounced on NPP voters will have no effect and amounts to an abuse of the pulpit for political purposes.

“This curse will never work because what Rev. Owusu Bempah did should have earned him jail but he was only arrested. What he did was a crime per our laws,” he said.

St. Sark accused Rev. Owusu Bempah of political inconsistency and partisanship, describing him as a “political prostitute” who shifts allegiance for political convenience.
He argued that a genuine man of God should remain neutral, serve as a peacemaker, and pray for the nation and all political parties, rather than invoking curses on citizens for exercising their constitutional right to vote.

He said such pronouncements, if indeed made, have the potential to inflame political tensions, intimidate voters and undermine Ghana’s democracy.
“He’s not even a real man of God,” St. Sark alleged.

In a further twist, St. Sark claimed that the political stance taken by Rev. Owusu Bempah could have dire consequences for his own church.
He alleged that about 70 percent of Glorious Word Power Ministries members are supporters of the NPP, and therefore cursing NPP voters could alienate his own congregation.
“70% of his church members are NPP supporters and the result of that will even collapse his church soon,” he claimed.
He urged Christians to disregard any curse linked to their voting choice, stressing that voting is a democratic right protected by the Constitution of Ghana and no spiritual threat should deter anyone from making their choice.
St. Sark called on religious leaders to use the pulpit responsibly and to promote peace, unity and issue-based national discourse, especially as the political season intensifies.
