Kofi Job, Wife Renovate Storm-Damaged Atwima Koforidua Classrooms to Honour Late Father-in-Law

Road contractor Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Esther Okyere Gyebi, have begun renovating a storm-damaged three-classroom block at the Atwima Koforidua cluster of schools in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

The project, being executed through the Kofi Job Foundation, is dedicated to the memory of the late Mr. Teddy Moses Okyere, father of Dr. Mrs. Esther Okyere Gyebi and father-in-law of Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job.

The intervention follows the one-week observance for Mr. Teddy Moses Okyere, which was held at the school’s park. Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job, who attended the ceremony, observed the dilapidated state of the classroom block and pledged to renovate it.

The Kofi Job Foundation has since engaged community leaders and school authorities to commence works on the facility.

Headmaster of the school, Mr. Alexander Ansah Amakye, told OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim on Sunday that about 100 pupils have been displaced after a heavy storm ripped off the roof of the three-classroom block.

“We have gone through very difficult times following the disaster. The situation has already been reported to all the appropriate authorities,” Mr. Amakye said. “Thanks to Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job and his wife Dr. Esther Okyere Gyebi, they are fixing the problem for us.”

He added that the support from the Kofi Job Foundation had come at a critical time and would ease a major burden on the school, which has struggled to accommodate affected pupils.

Speaking on behalf of the family of the late Mr. Teddy Moses Okyere, Mr. Asante Baffour Awuah commended Mr. Kofi Gyebi Job for the swift response.

“He was here to inspect the funeral grounds and saw the school’s situation, so he opted to fix the problem for the school,” Mr. Awuah said. “The family is very grateful for this honour done us, and we will follow the situation to ensure the work is done on time for the school.”

The renovation adds to a series of community interventions undertaken by the Kofi Job Foundation across the Ashanti Region. The Foundation said the project aligns with its commitment to education and community development, while also paying tribute to the legacy of the late Mr. Teddy Moses Okyere.

Works on the classroom block are expected to be completed in time to allow displaced pupils to return to a safe learning environment. School authorities say the renovation will improve teaching and learning conditions and restore full academic activities at the cluster of schools.
