The Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency, Hon. Kwabena Boateng Esq., has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to put aside internal differences and unite behind the party’s flag-bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Hon. Boateng emphasized that the internal contest is over and the party must now focus on the shared goal of securing victory in 2028.
Hon. Boateng, who previously played a key role in Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign, noted that the results of the recent NPP primaries reflect the will of the party faithful.

He called on members who supported other candidates to respect the majority decision. “The verdict delivered by NPP members last Saturday sends a clear message: we must market Dr. Bawumia to ensure the party recaptures political power in 2028,” he stated.

The Ejisu MP announced plans to lead a reconciliation and mobilization drive across his constituency, which includes visiting all electoral areas and polling stations, reaching out to supporters of Kennedy Agyapong and other candidates, and engaging voters in everyday spaces.

“While many had different preferences during the primaries, the majority has spoken. It is now incumbent upon every member to support Dr. Bawumia’s leadership,” Hon. Boateng remarked.
He stressed that the NPP cannot afford complacency and urged all members to actively promote the flag-bearer’s vision. “Our duty is to make Dr. Bawumia and the NPP brand the preferred choice for the Ghanaian people.
We will take our message to every corner of the country, from the airwaves to the local ‘chop bars,’ to ensure it resonates with the electorate,” he concluded.
The close margin between Dr. Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong underscores the need for party unity as the NPP gears up for the 2028 elections.
