Chief of Staff Julius Debrah Marks 60th Birthday With Donation to Village of Hope

The Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Hon. Julius Debrah, has marked his 60th birthday by donating essential items to the Village of Hope orphanage, reinforcing his commitment to social welfare and community development.

The donation was presented on his behalf on April 23, 2026, by the Legal Adviser to the President, Hon. Marietta Brew Appiah-Opong, who led a delegation of government officials and party executives to the facility. Items presented included food supplies, toiletries, and other necessities to support the upkeep and well-being of the children.

Hon. Brew Appiah-Opong was joined by the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Richard Kofi Asiedu, Regional Organiser Mike Derry, and other dignitaries and friends of the Chief of Staff.

Also present was the Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Francis Xavier Sosu. His attendance added a personal dimension to the occasion, as he spent part of his childhood at the Village of Hope. Hon. Sosu assisted in the presentation of the items, a gesture that resonated strongly with the children and staff.

A Heartfelt Expression of Gratitude
In remarks delivered on behalf of Hon. Debrah, Madam Brew Appiah-Opong said the donation was not merely symbolic but a heartfelt expression of gratitude and compassion.

She noted that the Chief of Staff remains deeply committed to supporting vulnerable groups across the country, particularly children who require care, protection, and opportunities to thrive.

She stressed the importance of ensuring that children at facilities like Village of Hope are provided with quality care, education, and a nurturing environment.

Leadership Through Service
The celebration of Hon. Debrah’s milestone through charity reflects a growing culture among public officials to align personal milestones with meaningful social contributions. Observers say such acts bring direct relief to beneficiaries while reinforcing the value of leadership grounded in empathy and service.

The items donated are expected to significantly ease the operational burden of the orphanage and support its day-to-day care for the children.

As Hon. Julius Debrah marks six decades of life and public service, his gesture serves as a reminder that leadership is most impactful when it extends beyond governance into tangible acts of compassion that uplift the most vulnerable in society.
