The Leading Telecommunications gaint, MTN Ghana has launched “MTN SME Accelerate,” reaffirming its commitment to the expansion of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). The goal of this year-long program, “Business Done Smarter, Faster, and Better,” is to increase SMEs’ sustainability and competitiveness.
MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett said at the event, “MTN is deeply invested in empowering SMEs.” We are aware of how crucial they are to promoting economic expansion and job creation across Africa.
In order for these firms to succeed in the digital era, he underlined the necessity of crucial tools, resources, and assistance. MTN Chief Enterprise Business Officer Angela Mensah Poku emphasized that SMEs face a number of obstacles, such as limited capacity, digitisation, and loan availability.
She underlined MTN’s determination to make the SME initiative a year-long endeavour rather than a month-long campaign. In order to guarantee good results, this modification attempts to guarantee ongoing involvement with the sector.
The event also unveiled the “MTN Adwumapa Bundle,” a bundle created especially for women-led SMEs, as part of its support for women in the SME sector. This unique package, one of several specialized offers offered all year long, attempts to promote networking and give exclusive access to market opportunities, such as pop-up stores and SME fairs.
The CEO of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Ms. Margaret Ansei, discussed the agency’s strategy to further integrate technology into SMEs’ operations during her speech.
She gave MTN credit for this program and stated that GEA is dedicated to working with MTN Business to expand SMEs and aid in Ghana’s economic growth.
MTN Ghana will implement a number of initiatives under the “MTN Accelerate” project to enable Ghanaian SMEs to grow and function sustainably. Expanded market activations and capacity-building workshops for SMEs in the official and informal sectors are among the planned activities.
Leadership trainings tailored to women in business will also be offered. At the conclusion of the year, the MTN SME GROW AFRICA Awards (SMEGA Awards), an awards ceremony, will mark the culmination of the project and evaluate the performance of SMEs throughout the year.
The Bulgarian Consul to Ghana, H.E. Nico van Staalduinen; the Ambassador of Malta to Ghana, H.E.
