The Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Eric Asibey, has kicked off an intensive revenue mobilisation campaign aimed at boosting its Internally Generated Funds (IGF).
The push is part of a broader strategy to ramp up local resources, enabling the assembly to fast-track development projects, enhance social amenities, strengthen security, and foster a thriving business environment for both private and public sectors.

Carved out of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) in 2018, Kwadaso has consistently ranked among the top performing districts in Ghana. Now, with a clear vision to elevate its game, the assembly is rallying residents and businesses to fulfil their levy and rate obligations.

“It’s time to invest in our own progress,” Hon. Asibey urged during a Monday, November 17, 2025, visit to markets, shops, lorry parks, and commercial hubs, stressing that taxes fuel the municipality’s growth.

The MCE’s team including Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Francis Adu Boateng, department heads, and assembly staff is fanning out to collect property rates, market tolls, business licences, and other dues as per the fee-fixing resolution. “Paying taxes isn’t just a duty, it’s how we build schools, fix roads, and light up streets,” Hon. Asibey told traders.

While the Municipal Information Officer, Mr. Eric Boateng, didn’t specify the drive’s duration, it’s expected to run for weeks, touching every corner of Kwadaso. The assembly promises transparency, urging citizens to engage, pay up, and partner in shaping a prosperous municipality.
