The government is considering partnering with faith-based organisations to complete stalled Agenda 111 hospital projects. This potential partnership aims to leverage the expertise and resources of these organisations to finish the hospitals.
President Mahama stated that the government is assessing the outstanding projects and will present a report to Cabinet soon. Some hospitals are near completion, while others are at various stages, from foundation work to lintel level.
The partnership option is being explored due to the strong cooperation between the government and faith-based organisations in healthcare. President Mahama said, “If there are hospitals in areas where it’s useful to expand health outreach, you might agree to take one and complete it, adding it to your managed hospitals.”

Details will be shared once the assessment is finalised, allowing organisations to identify facilities aligning with their health missions and congregation needs. President Mahama emphasised transparency, saying, “We’ll share information on hospitals and locations, and you can assess where your congregations are and how taking a hospital can enhance medical outreaches.”
He criticised governments ignoring scandals and addressing them later, stressing his administration’s commitment to tackling corruption. “Woe betide the first person who brings a scandal to this government, we shall hang them on a cross… and you cannot resurrect again.” He emphasised operating within the Constitution, ensuring thorough investigations and evidence-based actions.
The partnership aims to enhance healthcare delivery, aligning with the government’s Agenda 111 goals. Faith-based organisations are expected to play a significant role in completing these projects and improving Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure.
