Eight Teenage Girls Arrested for GH¢20,000 Robbery in Nkwanta South

The Nkwanta South police in the Oti Region have apprehended eight teenage girls, aged between 13 and 17, for allegedly breaking into a home and stealing over GH¢20,000 in cash and other valuables. The suspects, all students from schools in the Nkwanta South municipal area, are currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation.

According to the police, the girls are part of a gang that had been monitoring the owner of the money, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. They would allegedly break into the house when the owner was away during school breaks. The identity of the money’s owner remains unknown, but the incident has raised concerns among neighbors, who are now on high alert.

The teenage girls allegedly used their knowledge of the owner’s schedule to their advantage, striking when they knew he would be away from the house. This has left many in the community shocked and worried about the level of sophistication and audacity displayed by the young suspects.

It has been reported that one of the suspects, who is currently at large, has benefited from the theft, receiving approximately GH¢2,000. The police are urging the public to provide any information that could assist with the ongoing investigation and help bring the remaining suspect to justice.

The police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect at large to come forward and assist with the investigation. The authorities are working to ensure that all those involved in the robbery are brought to justice and that the stolen items are recovered.
