Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his decisive victory in the recently concluded 2024 general elections.
In a letter to Mahama, Putin highlighted the two nations’ longstanding bilateral collaboration and underlined his commitment to maintaining and fostering their friendly ties.
The President-Elect’s term as Head of State will enhance the two countries’ existing cooperation in several areas, according to Putin, who expressed confidence in Mahama’s upcoming administration.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your election as the President of the Republic of Ghana. Historically, relations between Ghana and Russia have been cordial.
The letter stated, “I am confident that your efforts as Head of State will help to advance a mutually advantageous bilateral cooperation in a number of areas.” Putin showed excellent sportsmanship by wishing Mahama and his new government well and praying for his health.
“I hope you’re healthy and happy, and I wish you all the best.”
