Group Condemns the Revocation of Appointments and Blames President Mahama for Constitutional Violations.

Ghana’s Progressive Youth Front (PYF), a youth-focused organisation, has vehemently denounced the widespread termination of public sector employees in response to President John Dramani Mahama’s order.

The PYF calls on the government to overturn what they call an unfair decision and put the welfare of the country’s youth first.

The group holds President Mahama accountable for his callousness and disregard for individuals impacted by economic hardship. If the revocation of appointments is not reversed, they have threatened to sue the government.

The Progressive Youth Front (PYF) is committed to promoting laws that empower and promote young people in Ghana. The PYF contends that it is irrational for a party that ran on a platform of equal and accessible employment opportunities to simply fire employees in order to achieve their goal of resetting Ghana.

According to the group, President Mahama’s NDC government is operating dishonestly and wilfully breaking their election pledges to create jobs. About 12,000 Ghanaians will be impacted by the mass firing, which the group described as politically motivated and callous in a statement signed by five national executives under the direction of National Coordinator Miss Albertha Twumwaa.

The PYF emphasizes that no administration has the authority to fire public sector employees arbitrarily for political reasons and urges President Mahama to uphold his oath.

The group agrees that firing government employees will put more young people in danger and that the unemployment rate is still a significant problem. “At a time when youth unemployment is still a major national issue, such actions only serve to increase hopelessness.”

The media, labour unions, civil society organisations, and all well-meaning Ghanaians are urged by the Progressive Youth Front to speak out against this injustice and call for an urgent reversal of these terminations.
