Ghana Navy Holds Fourth International Conference and Exhibition on Maritime Defence.

The Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, was the honoured guest at the 4th International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (IMDEC), which was recently held in Accra by the Ghana Navy. To debate urgent challenges impacting marine security in the Gulf of Guinea, the event brought together government officials, industry stakeholders, and maritime specialists.

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah stressed the value of teamwork in tackling maritime threats in the area during his keynote speech on behalf of President Mahama. In order to protect the Gulf of Guinea from piracy, illegal trafficking, and other maritime risks, he called for a united African voice that would use technology, creativity, and closer collaboration.

Participant knowledge, skills, and best practices in marine security were exchanged at the conference. By hosting the event, the Ghana Navy is showcasing its dedication to advancing regional maritime security and stability.

The Chief of Staff was given a warm and respectful welcome by the Ghana Navy, which demonstrated the nation’s distinguished naval heritage and dedication to maritime security.

Several senior navy commanders were there to greet the honoured guest, including Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu, who was represented by Rear Admiral Livinus Bessing.

The significance of marine security in the Gulf of Guinea and the necessity of teamwork to tackle the region’s problems are emphasised during the 4th IMDEC conference.

The conference’s results are anticipated to aid in the creation of practical responses to regional maritime dangers, and the Ghana Navy’s hosting of the event shows its dedication to advancing maritime security and stability.
