A violent attack on a residence in the Binduri District of the Upper East Region has claimed the lives of three people, including a five-year-old child. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 26, 2025, when unidentified gunmen attacked the residence, shooting five people.

Among the victims was George Bukari, the manager of Binduri-based Maxx Empire Radio and TV, who sustained injuries in the attack. Two others were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, three of the victims, including the five-year-old child, died instantly.

Residents believe the attack is linked to the long-running Bawku conflict, which has been ongoing since November 2021. The conflict has claimed multiple lives and displaced several families, creating a humanitarian crisis in the region.

In a separate development, a mentally challenged man was reportedly shot dead by military personnel at Daduri, a suburb of Bawku. This incident has further heightened tensions in the area, with concerns about the safety of residents.
Security officials have yet to comment on both incidents, leaving many questions unanswered. The silence has sparked fears and anxiety among residents, who are calling for increased security measures to protect them.

The attack in Binduri District is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of the Bawku conflict on innocent lives. The government and security agencies must take concrete steps to address the root causes of the conflict and ensure the safety of residents.
