Toasehemaa Nana Amonu Gyamfua Serwaa Bonsu Leads the Obuasi Consumer Service Committee of PURC to Overcomers Family Chapel Assemblies of God on Utility Service

Toasehemaa Nana Amonu Gyamfua Serwaa Bonsu, Chairperson of the Consumer Service Committee(CSC) of Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) Obuasi, led the Committee Members to engage with the congregation of Overcomers Family Chapel Assemblies of God at Abompe Newsite in the Obuasi Municipality .

The engagement focused on educating the community about electricity and water tariffs, emphasizing the importance of responsible consumption and payment.

During the interaction, Nana Amonu Gyamfua Serwaa Bonsu urged the congregation to prioritize payment for consumed energy and water, highlighting the need for collective responsibility in maintaining these essential services.

She encouraged consumers to report all complaints concerning electricity and water to the relevant authorities, ensuring accurate billing and preventing unnecessary losses.

Toasehemaa and her team also educated the congregation on the categories of complaints which included : quality of service supply , quality of consumer service delivery , Billing , Metering, Unlawful disconnection Damaged property , Payments amongst other complaints She , advised consumers to report any of these instances”It is crucial that we work together to ensure the development and delivery of the highest quality of utility service to consumers and aim to achieve efficiency, reliability and equity in the provision of electricity and water, she said.

The engagement was part of PURC’s ongoing efforts to educate the public on utility tariffs and promote responsible consumption.

The Obuasi CSC is committed to reaching out to communities, fostering a culture of understanding and cooperation in the management of public utilities.

The congregation of Overcomers Family Chapel Assemblies of God welcomed the visit, pledging to spread the message and promote responsible utility consumption within their community.
