The Ghana-UAE Innovation and Technology Hub has been established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations (MoCDTI), Presight AI, and the Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC).
The hub seeks to establish Ghana as a leader on the continent in technology innovation and digital transformation, fostering investment, creativity, and job development.
It is anticipated that the cooperation will boost Ghana-UAE diplomatic relations, increase export potential in cutting-edge technologies, and stimulate economic growth.
Hon. Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, stressed the significance of digital transformation in Ghana’s development plan during his remarks at the signing ceremony.
“This initiative reflects the vision of our President to diversify our economy and ensure innovation becomes a primary engine of inclusive, sustainable development,” he stated.
It is anticipated that the Ghana-UAE Innovation and Technology Hub will increase export capability in cutting-edge technologies and value-added services while also generating thousands of high-value, technology-driven jobs for Ghana’s youth.
Stakeholders are hopeful about the possible advantages for Ghana’s economy and technological growth as this alliance represents a major turning point in the country’s digital transformation journey.
“This project we are launching is about empowering people to dream, create, and bring ideas to life,” said H. E. Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World and Chairman of PCFC, in a brief statement. He further stressed that true wealth rests in original ideas.
