Toasehene Nana Yim Awere Ababio has reinstated Nyinansu Dikro Nana Adu Tutu in the Atwima Mponua District, following his destoolment due to involvement in galamsey activities within his area.
The decision to destool Nana Adu Tutu was taken because of his failure to heed warnings and his continued involvement in the illegal mining activities, which have been devastating the region’s natural resources.

Toasehene Nana Yim Awere Ababio emphasized that as a servant of His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, he has consistently warned his traditional chiefs to refrain from engaging in galamsey activities, which are destroying the country’s natural resources. He noted that Nana Adu Tutu’s actions were particularly egregious, as he had been using the Toasehene’s name to extort money from illegal miners.
“What really pains me is using my name to collect money from these galamseyers,” Toasehene Nana Yim Awere Ababio said, expressing his disappointment and concern over Nana Adu Tutu’s actions.
Nana Yim Awere Ababio reiterated his commitment to upholding the values of the Asantehene and protecting the environment, and warned that any chief found guilty of engaging in galamsey activities would face severe consequences.

The Toasehene had previously cautioned his traditional chiefs against involvement in galamsey, emphasizing the need for them to be responsible custodians of the land and protect the environment for future generations. The reinstatement of Nana Adu Tutu serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and the need for traditional leaders to uphold the highest standards of integrity and responsibility.
The people of Nyinansu are expected to welcome Nana Adu Tutu back as their Dikro, and it is hoped that he will work tirelessly to restore the trust and confidence of his people and contribute to the development of the area.
