The campaign team of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has appealed to New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to vote for their candidate in the upcoming presidential primaries, citing his grassroots appeal, commitment to the party, and vision for Ghana’s economic transformation.
Addressing a press conference, Sheik Dauda Mohammed, Kintampo North NPP Constituency Secretary, highlighted Agyapong’s contributions to the party, including supplying vehicles, party materials, and financial support to parliamentary candidates. Agyapong’s industrialization efforts, such as establishing factories and creating jobs, were also emphasized.
The team argued that Agyapong’s message of jobs, employment, and industrialization is what the party needs to win the 2028 general elections, given Ghanaians’ dissatisfaction with the party’s past performance on economic issues.
Agyapong’s supporters point to his commitment to discipline and unity within the party, as well as his philanthropic work, including building the cardiothoracic department at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The NPP presidential primaries are scheduled for January 31, 2026, with Agyapong listed as Number 1 on the ballot paper.
