The Subin District National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has made a significant stride in expanding healthcare access, registering 1,500 inmates and residents at Adum as part of this year’s Ashantifest celebrations. The initiative, led by Mr. Acheampong Korankye, aimed to bring healthcare services closer to the people and promote the importance of health insurance coverage.

In an interview with the media, Mr. Korankye expressed his appreciation to former President H.E. John Dramani Mahama for his government’s efforts in promoting primary healthcare. “We congratulate H.E. John Dramani Mahama for bringing back the People Primary Health Care,” he said, highlighting the importance of this approach in addressing healthcare challenges.

Mr. Korankye noted that the Subin District NHIA deemed it an honor to partner with the Ashantifest celebrations, recognizing the significance of primary healthcare in solving first-aid cases. “Primary health care is an important factor in solving first-aide cases,” he emphasized, stressing the need for increased access to healthcare services.
The registration exercise, which targeted inmates and residents at Adum, is part of the NHIA’s efforts to increase its coverage and promote health insurance literacy among the population. The initiative is expected to benefit the registered individuals, providing them with access to quality healthcare services.
The Ashantifest celebrations provide a platform for various stakeholders to come together and promote development in the Ashanti Region. The Subin District NHIA’s initiative is a testament to the commitment of the Authority to improving healthcare access and promoting the well-being of the people.
