Stop lying if you want to make it to heaven – Mahama to Akufo-Addo

John Dramani Mahama, the former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for recent comments that questioned the NDC’s capacity to run a 24-hour economy because of previous energy difficulties.

During his Western Regional visit, Mr. Mahama addressed a mini-rally in Ellembelle and denied Akufo-Addo’s assertions that the NDC was unable to address Ghana’s power issue, or “dumsor,” prior to his exit in 2016.

He called the claims false and insisted that the NDC completely fixed the problem before the conclusion of its tenure, making sure there was no load shedding that year.

Mahama cited Proverbs 19:9, which warns that “liars will not go to heaven,” and urged the President to desist from misleading Ghanaians about the history of the energy crisis.

“The assertions that the NDC failed to resolve the electricity situation prior to its departure from office are flagrant fabrications. “President Akufo-Addo needs to stop spreading lies if he hopes to reach heaven,” Mahama stated.

Mr. Mahama reiterated the NDC’s commitment to addressing national concerns and emphasised that his administration worked hard to address the electrical crisis, which he said was the result of years of neglect by previous administrations.

Furthermore, as the country approaches the December elections, Mr. Mahama asked Ghanaians to focus on the facts and disregard political disinformation. Mahama conducted a mini-rally in Ellembelle as part of his broader campaign to engage people in the Western Region.

He spoke about his promises to address the nation’s pressing problems and restore economic stability.
