Predictive Due to the alleged murder of Eric Obeng Darkwah, the former headmaster of Dampong Senior High School and Adontenghene for the Nyaboo traditional council, Elizabeth Dankwah, the founder of King Solomon Temple International, and Mubarak Mohammed, a former All Peoples Congress (APC) parliamentary candidate, have been placed under remand in prison custody. The remand was mandated by Her Lordship Madeline Thompson, the presider of the Kodie District Court.

In 2024, Prophetess Dankwah allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money from Mr. Darkwah under the guise of assisting him in discovering ancient family gold, leading to the suspects’ alleged murder of him.

She is accused of breaking her word after allegedly finding the ancient gold in the family’s home and using the money to her advantage.

Mubarak Mohammed and three other people, who are still at large, allegedly kidnapped and killed the dead after the prophetess summoned him to her church for a purifying ceremony.
According to police early investigations, the murder was planned in order to avoid paying back the money or keeping the false promise.

Following their arrests on June 9 and June 17, 2025, the accused were arraigned before the Kodie District Court. Authorities are still looking for the other suspects, and they are expected to return to court on August 19, 2025.

The deceased’s family spokesperson, Nana Kwasi Baffoe, thanked the Ghana Police Service and demanded that justice be done.
A heartfelt plea for justice was also made by the deceased’s widow, Adwoa Boatemaa. “After my husband, the family’s breadwinner, was allegedly murdered, all hope was lost,” she said, adding that the children’s schooling and the family’s daily survival are now in danger.
The courtroom was crowded with people who claimed to have been defrauded by Prophetess Dankwah and accused her of being a serial scammer.

For the “ritual purification” of gold, they said she collected GH¢20,000, GH¢100,000, GH¢40,000, and GH¢50,000, but she never returned the money or the gold. The prophetess allegedly acquired real gold and, after repeated demands for its return, replaced it with phoney bars, according to several victims who claimed a similar method of operation.
At a prior court hearing on July 7, 2025 (which was postponed because of the judge’s illness), a man produced allegedly counterfeit gold bars and claimed that the Prophetess had exchanged his genuine gold for these counterfeit ones.

In addition to expressing their dissatisfaction with previous unsuccessful attempts to obtain justice, the alleged victims promised to testify against Prophetess Dankwah and accused her of influencing police officials through her ties. They conveyed their belief that justice will be done at last.
