President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his deep concern about the state of Ghana, saying that the country’s economy is in crisis and that its citizens are suffering to a significant extent.
He stressed the need for quick action to address the economic situation in his first State of the Nation Address ( SONA ) of his second term, which he delivered in Parliament on Thursday, February 27. “Our country is not in a good state. President Mahama declared, “Our people are suffering and our economy is in crisis.”
He attributed the current troubles to various economic difficulties, including rising inflation, huge debt levels, and a failing private sector.
He asserts that these factors are to blame for the increased unemployment and decline in living standards that many Ghanaians are currently facing.
President Mahama assured Parliament and the nation that his government will take decisive action to stabilize the economy.
He underlined the need for strategic plans to boost revenue generation, assist local enterprises, and effectively manage the national debt.
“We cannot overlook the struggles of our people. “My administration is dedicated to enacting radical reforms that will restore economic stability and provide relief to households and businesses,” he pledged.
