Opoku Ware SHS Presents Trophies to Toasehene, Ends 16-Year Trophy Drought

Opoku Ware Senior High School (Owass), champions of the 2026 Super Zonal Boys, has presented their trophies to Toasehene Nana Yim Awere Ababio, marking a historic end to a 16-year trophy drought for the school.

Toasehene, an alumnus of Opoku Ware SHS, lauded the team for their exceptional performance at the Inter-Schools and Colleges Athletics Competition (Interco), which propelled them to the Super Zonals finals.

He advised the students to balance sports with academics, emphasizing that success in life requires dedication to their studies.

Nana Yim Awere Ababio warned the students against drug abuse, highlighting the dangers of substances like tramadol and “red”.

He congratulated the team and pledged his support, echoing the commitment of the school’s old boys association.

The delegation, accompanied by academic staff and old boys association members led by Okatakyie Mike Domfeh, received a warm reception from Toasehene.

This milestone marks a significant achievement for Opoku Ware SHS, ending a long wait for a major trophy.
