The government is being sued by Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the Member of Parliament for the Old Tafo Constituency, for allegedly firing young workers arbitrarily.
He argues that the government’s failure to deliver on its promises to increase employment and the economy has resulted in political victimisation rather than offering young people worthwhile options.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 11, the MP blasted the current administration for prioritizing political appointments and endless committee formations over actual governance.
He insisted that rather than giving jobs and economic stability more importance, the administration has turned to firing young workers who were legitimately hired into the system.
He underlined that the government should concentrate on developing job opportunities rather than displacing workers and cautioned that such actions would only worsen economic hardship.
The MP for the Old Tafo seat reaffirmed his commitment to using the legal system to seek justice in order to hold the government accountable and put an end to such capricious terminations.
