Oforikrom Municipal Chief Executive Extends Warm Ramadan Wishes to Muslim Residents

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, has extended warm Ramadan wishes to all Muslim residents across the municipality as the holy month of fasting begins.

In a special goodwill message, Hon. Sadat described Ramadan as a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, sacrifice, and compassion, which offers a unique opportunity for individuals and communities to renew their faith and strengthen bonds of unity.

He noted that the holy month is not only significant for Muslims but also serves as a reminder to all residents of the importance of peace, tolerance, and communal harmony in building a stronger society.

“On behalf of the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all our Muslim brothers and sisters. Ramadan is a sacred period that teaches us patience, humility, generosity, and devotion to God,” the MCE stated.

Hon. Sadat emphasized that Ramadan remains one of the most important seasons in the Islamic calendar, encouraging believers to engage in fasting, prayer, charity, and acts of kindness. He described the month as a time that inspires not only spiritual growth but also social responsibility.

“The values of Ramadan such as empathy for the vulnerable, love for humanity, and commitment to righteousness are essential virtues that must guide society beyond the holy month,” he said. “May this blessed month bring peace, unity, and abundant blessings to our municipality. Let us use this period to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and mutual respect that defines Oforikrom.”

The MCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to promoting inclusive governance and ensuring that all communities, regardless of religion or background, are fully represented and supported in the municipality’s development agenda.

He acknowledged the vital contributions of the Muslim community to the social and economic progress of Oforikrom, especially in areas such as trade, education, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.

Hon. Ahmed assured residents that the Assembly will continue working closely with religious leaders, community groups, and stakeholders to maintain peace and strengthen interfaith cooperation across the municipality.

He appealed to the Muslim community to remember the municipality and Ghana as a whole in their prayers during the holy month.

“Ramadan is a season of blessings and answered prayers. I encourage all Muslims to pray for our municipality, our region, and our nation, so that we may continue to experience peace and progress,” he said.

The MCE concluded his message by wishing all Muslim residents a fruitful fasting period filled with divine favour, good health, and spiritual fulfillment.

“May Allah grant you strength throughout the fast, accept your prayers, and bless your homes with joy and prosperity. Ramadan Kareem to all our Muslim residents.”
