The Oforikrom Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anwel Sadat, yesterday joined the Interior Minister and Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency, Hon. Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, to commission the Aboabo Middle ‘B’ Astroturf park in the Asawase Constituency.
The commissioning ceremony was a celebration of the collaborative efforts of the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly and the Asawase Constituency to provide a state-of-the-art sports facility for the youth of the area. Hon. Sadat praised President Mahama for his commitment to fostering and promoting youth development through sports.
“Aboabo Middle ‘B’ Astroturf park is a testament to the power of collaboration and dedication to the development of our youth,” Hon. Sadat said. “We are proud to partner with Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, a leader who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of the people of Asawase Constituency.”
Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, in his remarks, expressed his gratitude to the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly for their support in bringing the project to fruition.
He also thanked the community for their patience and cooperation during the construction of the facility.
“This astroturf park is a gift to the youth of Aboabo and the entire Asawase Constituency,” Hon. Muntaka Mubarak said. “I am confident that it will serve as a hub for sports development and a catalyst for the growth of young talents in the area.”
The Aboabo Middle ‘B’ Astroturf park is a significant addition to the sports infrastructure in the Asawase Constituency and is expected to provide a safe and conducive environment for young people to engage in sports and other recreational activities.
Hon. Sadat also used the occasion to commend Hon. Muntaka Mubarak for his exceptional leadership and dedication as a long-serving member of parliament for Asawase Constituency. “Hon. Muntaka Mubarak has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of the people of Asawase Constituency,” he said.
“We are proud to have him as our MP and we look forward to continued collaboration to drive development in our constituency.”
The commissioning ceremony was attended by stakeholders, including officials from the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, the Asawase Constituency, and the Ghana Football Association.
