NPP’s Kojo Bamba Proposes Top-to-Bottom Approach for Internal Elections
A leading contender for the National 1st Vice Chairman position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kojo Bamba has suggested that the party adopt a top-to-bottom approach for its upcoming internal elections.

In a statement, Bamba proposed that the elections begin from the national level and trickle down to the grassroots, citing the successful implementation of this structure during the party’s presidential elections.
According to Bamba, starting with national-level elections will help reduce tension and uncertainty within the party. “Once leadership at the national level is settled, it becomes easier to manage expectations and unite various factions across the regions, constituencies, and polling stations,” he explained.

He believes this approach will create clarity, strengthen confidence in the process, and facilitate reconciliation where differences arise.

Bamba also highlighted the potential financial benefits of this approach, stating that it will ease the burden on the party’s resources and allow for more effective allocation of funds.
“A well-sequenced process will minimise logistical pressure, reduce duplication of effort, and save resources. The funds preserved can then be redirected into strengthening the party’s structures and preparing early for the 2028 general election,” he said.
Emphasizing the importance of unity and discipline, Bamba stressed that this approach will promote a shared sense of direction within the party, ultimately positioning them for victory in 2028.
“If we remain organised and intentional, we can emerge stronger, more cohesive, and better positioned for victory in 2028,” he concluded.
The proposal has sparked interest among party members, with many awaiting the party’s response and potential implementation of Bamba’s suggestion.
