New Offinso Hene and other Chief’s Come Under Fire From the Ahyirem Family

On the basis of persistent Chieftaincy problems at the Regional House of Chiefs, the Ahyirem Abusua has openly voiced its dissatisfaction of Nana Amoako Poku’s appointment as Offinso hene.

Ahyirem Abusuapayin spokesperson Kwabena Agyeibi Obeng stressed that Nana Amoako should not enter the palace till the issue is settled.

Kwabena Agyeibi Obeng claims that because the matter at the Regional House of Chiefs has not yet been settled, Nana Amoako is not authorized to sell land in Offinso and the surrounding area.

The Ahyirem family asserts its privileges by claiming to be the true royals and has threatened to carry out ceremonies on the stool.

Because we are the true royals, Kwabena Agyeibi Obeng declared, “We will go and perform all rituals on the stool.”

He made this declaration when the Ahyirem Royal Family conducted a Press briefing at offinso Palace today. where a large police presence was used to maintain security.

During the press briefing, family members expressed their dissatisfaction with the way the Regional House of Chiefs handled the matter.

They threatened to take matters into their own hands if the problem is not thoroughly probed and accused the House of routinely delaying hearings.

Some family members threatened, “We will advise ourselves if they don’t take a critical look at the case.”

The Local Council of Churches Chairman, Apostle Anthony Opoku Addae, has voiced his opinion in the conflict and urged the Regional House of Chiefs to try to find a peaceful solution between the two families.

Many have called for a prompt and equitable resolution to the Offinso chieftaincy conflict, and the Regional House of Chiefs has come under fire for how it has handled the issue.

Tensions are running high in the neighbourhood as a result of the long-standing issue.
