President John Dramani Mahama is being urged by the people of Sekyere Afram Plains to carry out his campaign pledge to name Hon. Hajia Nasira Afrah as a deputy minister.
The people think that this pledge, which was made during the 2024 elections, played a significant role in ensuring that Hajia Nasira Afrah, the first female candidate to win the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary seat in Sekyere Afram Plains, achieved a historic victory.
The party members stressed that by voting decisively in favour of the NDC, they fulfilled their obligation, and now it is President Mahama’s turn to keep his word.
They encouraged the President to recognize their efforts by designating Hajia Nasira Afrah as deputy minister, highlighting the constituency’s crucial role in the NDC’s historic electoral success, especially in the Ashanti Region.
Notably, Hajia Nasira Afrah has been actively interacting with the constituents, encouraging development and unity via sports and other endeavours.
The Sekyere Afram Plains people’s demand that President Mahama keep his word demonstrates their faith in his ability to lead and their dedication to the NDC’s national goal.
