In October 2024, MTN Ghana celebrated “Y’ello Goes Pink Day” for its employees as a sincere way to raise awareness of breast cancer.
The occasion, which took place at MTN House and its regional offices, was one of several events designed to increase public awareness of the illness.
Two MTN organisations, Scancom Cooperative Credit Union and Women in Technology (WIT) Cohort 3 Ladies, gave token donations to Mr. Abdallah Ibrahim, the Acting Chief Human Resource Officer, in support of women fighting cancer prior to the start of the Y’ello Goes Pink Day event.
The purpose of this donation was to persuade MTN employees to voluntarily donate money to this cause.
In addition to teaching participants the value of healthy living and early detection, the day’s activities promoted a feeling of camaraderie among them.
The Wellness Wave Fair, which opened the event, gave staff members the chance to have medical screenings for a range of health checks, such as blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and breast screening exercises.

He also explained the nutritional value of various foods, empowering participants to make informed dietary choices for better health.

He gave attendees important information to help them spot early warning signs of breast cancer by outlining the disease’s main causes, symptoms, and available treatments.
The fitness session included giveaways, adding an element of fun and engagement to the day’s activities. At the end of “Y’ello Goes Pink Day,” MTN employees walked away with more than just gifts—they gained vital knowledge on how to live healthier lives and detect signs of breast cancer early.
