MobileMoney LTD, a subsidiary of MTN Ghana, marked its 15th anniversary with a series of award ceremonies throughout the country to honor the contributions of its essential partners, agents, and merchants.
During the National Awards night in Accra, Shaibu Haruna, the CEO of MobileMoney LTD, expressed his appreciation to the Bank of Ghana and other collaborators for their trust and support in promoting financial inclusion over the past 15 years.
“After 15 years, we are pleased to report that we have played a significant role in the development of Ghana’s FinTech sector, creating both direct and indirect employment opportunities for Ghanaians,” Haruna remarked.
“We have also made substantial contributions to government revenue, supported business growth, and fostered digital entrepreneurship. Most importantly, our platform has enhanced the dignity of many Ghanaians through the transformative impact of financial inclusion.”
Looking to the future, Haruna highlighted the vast opportunities that await in sectors such as digital payments, cross-border transactions, insurance, investment, and e-commerce.
“Our goal for the next decade is to ensure ‘financial freedom’ for every Ghanaian, and we aim to achieve this through strategic partnerships,” he concluded.
