MTN Ghana has invested $245 million in Network and IT upgrades for 2025.

MTN Ghana has declared a significant investment of $245 million for the improvement of its IT systems and network infrastructure across the country in 2025.

The action is a component of the company’s continuous endeavours to enhance 4G capacity, broaden coverage, and update its technological infrastructure.

The Ashanti Regional Operations Manager, Mr. Dickson Amoung-yan, claims that the investment covers a number of important areas, such as: Extension of coverage to underserved and new communities Increasing 4G capacity to meet rising data needs Upgrading Radio Units (RU) to enhance network efficiency Expanding the fibre infrastructure while placing a high priority on network resiliency In the Ashanti Region, MTN has started expanding network coverage to 14 additional locations as part of the rollout.

Among the areas that benefit are Kotei, Buokrom, Fankyenebra, Agogo, and Mampong. The quick growth of new communities in these areas is fuelling these expansions and raising the need for strong and dependable connectivity.

On Thursday, August 28, Mr. Amoung-yan stated during the 2025 Media and Stakeholder Forum, which was hosted at the Lancaster Hotel in Kumasi, that 1,328 km of resilient fibre infrastructure had been installed in the Ashanti Region alone.

The purpose of this backbone is to improve network reliability, lower latency, and allow for increased data flow in both urban and rural locations.

Noting that resources have been set aside expressly to address performance problems and enhance the customer experience, he underlined MTN’s dedication to resolving current service concerns.

The investment is in line with MTN Ghana’s overarching strategic goals to spearhead digital transformation and get its infrastructure ready for the expected spike in data usage and future technologies.
