MTN Ghana has announced a significant contribution of $2 million to support the Government of Ghana’s flagship One Million Coders Programme, a strategic initiative aimed at accelerating the nation’s digital transformation agenda and empowering young people with future-ready digital skills.

The funding will support the training of one million Ghanaians in coding and digital skills, equipping them with the competencies needed to participate effectively in the digital economy and contribute to national development.

This initiative aligns with MTN Ghana’s commitment to youth empowerment and digital inclusion, as stated by Stephen Blewett, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana.
The One Million Coders Programme is a key pillar of Ghana’s digitalisation agenda, focusing on building a strong pool of digital talent to drive public-sector modernisation, private-sector growth, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
By expanding access to coding and software development skills, the programme aims to boost productivity, drive innovation, and strengthen Ghana’s competitiveness in the global digital economy.
MTN Ghana’s support for the programme is part of its broader commitment to digital inclusion, education, and youth development, as outlined in MTN Group’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy.
The company is also working with the Government of Ghana to establish a $25 million ICT Centre, which will serve as a hub for innovation, skills training, and digital collaboration.
