Minister of Defence Expresses Apprehension Regarding Six-Year Delay in Afari Military Hospital Project.

The Defence Minister Dr. Omane Boamah has called the Afari Military Hospital contractor to Accra for a meeting to discuss project completion.

The minister paid a visit to the hospital site today to review the project’s development and handle land encroachment issues.

The six-year delay in the project is a major setback that the government cannot tolerate, Dr. Omane Boamah said during a day tour of the facility.

In order to deliver high-quality healthcare services to the Ashanti region’s residents and beyond, he emphasized the significance of finishing the project, which got underway in 2014.

With the goal of finishing the Afari hospital project by the end of September 2025, the minister emphasized that the government is dedicated to resetting Ghana, especially the healthcare sector.

He promised to work with Euroget, the contractor, to settle any disputes and guarantee cost-effectiveness.

To complete the project, Dr. Omane Boamah has invited the contractor and the finance minister to meet with him in Accra.

The minister stated that he is serious about seeing the project through to completion, underscoring his dedication to it.

Dr. Omane Boamah was joined by the regional minister of Ashanti (Dr. Frank Amoakohene), the interior minister (Hon. Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak), and the minister of lands and natural resources (Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah).

The minister was accompanied to the project site by representatives of the military, the lands commission, and the forest commission.
