In order to foster harmony and peace, COKA courted female journalists.
The former Constituency Chairman for Afigya Kwabre South on the New Patriotic Party ticket Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah has cautioned female journalists to urge peace and togetherness through their media outlets.
He claimed that if one community or region was at odds, it had a cascading effect on another community or region, regardless of one’s jurisdiction.
In light of this, female journalists ought to make an effort to promote peace. This was said by Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, also known as COKA, at his first meeting with a few chosen female Ashanti show hosts, producers, reporters, and editors on Saturday, August 30. During his tenure as Constituency Chairman, COKA made a conscious effort to increase the number of women in appointed posts, reaffirming the important role that women play in development.
Regarding interacting with female journalists, COKA pointed out that although women play a significant part in the media environment, political personalities typically only engage with their male colleagues.
He believed that this meeting with women in the journalism field was well-timed to encourage them by showing them that their efforts in the media were valued.
He urged people who were not already members of the Ghana Journalists Association to sign up since belonging to professional organisations was essential for directing their work and for receiving support from them when they needed it.
