Kumasi Mayor Initiates City-Wide Clean-Up in Preparation for Asantehemaa’s Funeral.

A citywide cleanup effort was organized today by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), which is led by Hon. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi.

The activity is being done in advance of Monday, September 15, 2025, the funeral service for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The mayor claims that the goal of the cleanup effort is to make sure Kumasi is pristine in remembrance of the late Queenmother and to make it presentable for guests who would be joining the Asanteman in their grief.

In an effort to show his dedication to the activity, the mayor was spotted personally clearing clogged gutters. The Kejetia Petty Traders Association, the Ashanti Youth Association, and the Kumasi Youth Association were among the groups that took part in the cleanup effort.

The activity was also successful because of the efforts of schools like Islamic Senior High School, Bantama SDA SHS, Asanteman SHS, and KASS. Ash-Town, Dichemso, Amakom, Asafo, Adum, Nhyiaeso, Dr Mensah, Mmrom, K.O. Odumasi, Alabar, Manhyia Extension, Bantama, Cultural Centre, and Waec Drain (Akwatia Line) were among the locations that were targeted by the cleanup, and certain Assembly members made sure that their electoral districts took part.

In the course of the late Asantehemaa’s funeral, the cleanup effort is anticipated to help preserve Kumasi’s cleanliness and dignity.
