Former Ghanaian president John Agyekum Kufour thinks it is impossible to see the four parliamentary candidates’ plans to compete in the 2024 election as cross-carpeting.
Since their ruling has no effect on the present Parliament, he feels that it should not have led to the current deadlock in Ghana’s Parliament.
“In my opinion, there is no cross-carpeting involved in the four individuals who have chosen to become independent.
“The next parliament after this one is affected by their decision, not the current one,” he stated.

Ghanaians have the power to choose the party they wish to hold the majority.
Among other things, this will open the door for the President to speak to the country and sign any legislation that is proposed,” said former President Kufour.
