In honour of National Fitness Day, PATH-Ghana organized a number of community events at Kodie-Apagya in the Ashanti Region’s Afigya Kwabre South District in cooperation with the Ghana National Olympic Committee, Ghana Health Service, National Sports Authority, and other partners.
The occasion is a component of the Community Sport and Health Cooperation Initiative, an international program supported by the International Olympic Committee that is carried out in five nations, including Ghana.
In order to encourage physicalrrrr activity, enhance health, and lower the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer, this program seeks to strengthen cooperation across the sports, health, and education sectors.

Commemorating National Fitness Day every other Saturday of the month, it was first introduced in August 2022. Speaking to Onua News in an interview, The Ghana Health Service, Education Service, and Sports Authority authorities have urged Ghanaians to promote physical activity and spread knowledge of its health advantages.
They claimed that exercise was a major factor in enhancing one’s health and preventing chronic illnesses, as well as helping one burn a lot of calories. With almost 200 participants, the Fitness Walk aimed to raise awareness of the value of solidarity, consistent exercise, and environmental protection for the sake of current and future generations.
Apagya ruler Nana Owusu Peprah II, meanwhile, claimed that his community’s workout program would shield its members from illness.
“Your endurance and muscle strength can both be increased with regular exercise.
Exercise helps your cardiovascular system function better and delivers nutrients and oxygen to your tissues. Additionally, when your heart and lungs are healthier, you have more energy to do everyday tasks. He stated:
