Former President Kufour Describes Bawumia’s Crucial Contribution to a Stable Exchange Rate During His Administration

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has commended Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for his crucial contribution to keeping the exchange rate steady when he was president.

The Bank of Ghana’s then-Deputy Governor, Dr. Bawumia, was among a group of economists who contributed to the exceptional exchange rate of one cedi to one dollar, according to Kufuor.

When President Kufuor, Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, and Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the vice presidential candidate for the NPP, were recognised for their contributions to Ghana’s progress, Kufuor made these statements.

The former president urged voters to endorse Dr. Bawumia for effective leadership, describing him as the right person to entrust with the country’s future.

In addition, Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin urged Ghanaians to pay attention to the former president’s testimony to Dr. Bawumia’s abilities and praised Kufuor for his commitment to the country’s progress.
