Education Key to Breaking Poverty Cycle – Dr. Adutwum

Former Education Minister Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum has emphasized the importance of investing in children’s education as a means to escape poverty. Speaking at an event in Sekyere Kontonkyi, Ashanti Region, Dr. Adutwum highlighted education’s transformative power to uplift entire families from poverty.

“When you educate a child, you’re not just changing their life; you’re changing the trajectory of your entire family,” he said.

The event aimed to support Sekyere Kusi Senior High Technical School’s infrastructure development, with Dr. Adutwum pledging to use his position as Vice Chairman of Parliament’s Education Committee to advocate for the school’s needs.

Kumawu MP Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim praised Dr. Adutwum’s instrumental role in securing government support for the school, encouraging locals to help make it more attractive.

The school’s headmaster, Nana Obrempong Nkrumah Agyei II, urged parents to enroll their children, citing the school’s strong track record of producing talented and skilled students.

Board Chairman Dr. Paul Appiah Konadu called on the community to resource the school, emphasizing that collective efforts would ensure the school’s continued success.

Dr. Adutwum’s message resonated with the audience, who recognized the significance of education in shaping their community’s future.

As the ceremony concluded, attendees expressed their commitment to supporting Sekyere Kusi Senior High Technical School and investing in the next generation’s education.
