Ashanti Regional NSA Durector Marks Birthday With Alma Mater, Urges BECE Candidates to Focus

The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Authority, Fynn Emmanuel Reagan, has marked his birthday by celebrating with pupils and staff of his alma mater, St. Paul’s R/C J.H.S. in Amakom, Kumasi.

The visit formed part of Mr. Reagan’s commitment to giving back to the school and motivating final-year students ahead of the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Advice to BECE Candidates
Addressing the candidates, Mr. Reagan urged them to stay disciplined and committed to their studies in the final weeks before the examination. He encouraged the pupils to “marry their books” and avoid distractions, noting that focused preparation is critical to success.

“Study hard. Your performance in the BECE will shape the next stage of your academic journey. Give it your all in these few weeks,” he said.

From Hardship to Leadership
Mr. Reagan shared his personal experience as a former student of St. Paul’s R/C J.H.S., recounting the challenges he faced while in school. He told the pupils he once wrote exams without a mathematical set and lacked other essential learning materials.

Despite those setbacks, he said, determination and perseverance carried him through. “I sat where you are today. I didn’t have everything I needed, but I was determined. Today, I serve as the Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Authority. You can also rise beyond your circumstances if you stay focused,” he stated.

Call for Support and Discipline

The Regional Director commended teachers for their dedication and appealed to parents to support candidates as they prepare for the BECE.

He reaffirmed his commitment to youth development and education in the Ashanti Region.

Staff and students of St. Paul’s R/C J.H.S. expressed gratitude for the visit, describing Mr. Reagan’s story as timely motivation ahead of the national exams.

The BECE is set to begin in the coming weeks, with thousands of candidates across the country expected to participate.
