Asanko Gold Invests ¢2.3m in Manso Nkran Community Centre

Asanko Gold Ghana has officially commissioned a state-of-the-art multipurpose community centre in Manso Nkran, a key host community in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.

The centre, constructed at a cost of over ¢2.3 million, serves as a hub for knowledge sharing, cultural exchange, community gatherings, training, and development programs.

Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Asanko Gold Ghana, Dr. Charles Amoah, emphasized the company’s commitment to addressing infrastructure gaps and promoting social cohesion within its host communities.

He highlighted the company’s impactful initiatives, including:

Asanko Scholarship Scheme: Awarding full educational support to 15 brilliant but needy students

Soap-making Initiative: Empowering women and youth with livelihood skills and income-generating opportunities

Agro Input Support Program: Boosting agricultural productivity and food security in host communities

Modern Toilet Facility: Constructing a 10-seater toilet facility for the Kwankyeabo community to improve sanitation and promote better hygiene and public health standards

Paramount Chief of Manso Nkwanta, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah, expressed gratitude to Asanko Gold Ghana for the initiative, urging residents to cease attacks on the mine and resort to dialogue to settle tensions.

He emphasized the importance of peace and cooperation in fostering development and promoting critical investments for communal growth.

The commissioning of the multipurpose community centre demonstrates Asanko Gold Ghana’s commitment to investing in the well-being and development of its host communities.
