The flagbearer and vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has come under fire from the leader and founder of the Action People’s Party (APP), Kenneth Nana Kwame Asamoah, for his unguarded religious campaign remarks that a Muslim vote for John Dramani Mahama is equivalent to haram.
The remarks made by the vice president are tribalistic, uncultured, and sure to cause trouble.
In light of the country’s notable religious balance, Dr. Bawumia’s unprecedented claim to garner votes is inappropriate.
The Ashanti Region has long been taken for granted, but Dr. Bawumia is a gift to democracy and progress.
As a stronghold of support, he claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has prospered greatly in the area over the years and has taken them for granted.
It’s time, though, to reevaluate our commitment and demand responsibility and development. He gave a hint.
The NPP has promised the Ashanti Region’s residents better social services, job creation, and infrastructure development over the years, according to Mr. Kenneth Nana Kwame Asamoah. Many of these promises, however, have not been kept, leaving the locals angry and discouraged.
According to his estimation, no significant project completed for the region could be mentioned by a party that has enjoyed the area as its stronghold. mentioned the phase two project for the Kumasi Central Market, which was shelved when it was completed.
The road system, the healthcare system, the Krofrom market, and many other areas suffered from a lack of growth.
At a press conference held at the Ashanti Region’s regional party office in Kumasi, Nana Kwame Asamoah told reporters that he was shocked that Bawumia’s government and Nana Addo had managed to spend $58 million on the priciest dug-out while His Royal Highness Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was begging for $10 million to repair the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
“It is a front to Asanteman for someone who identified as Asante to make such blatant remarks that the people of Ashanti Region will still vote for the NPP if a goat is dressed in NPP colours. It is time for the region to recognize this disrespectful behaviour and vote against the NPP in the next election.”
The Ashanti Region’s citizens deserve better than empty political platitudes; they require concrete programs and outcomes, not taunts.
