Nana Agradaa, also known as Mama Pat, is set to be released from prison on March 3, 2026, after serving eight months of her 12-month sentence.
Her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, confirmed that her release is due to Ghana’s standard remission policy, which allows eligible inmates to serve two-thirds of their sentence.
Agradaa was initially sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labour, but the Amasaman High Court reduced her sentence to 12 months and imposed a fine of 200 penalty units (about GH¢2,400) on February 5, 2026. The court ruled that the original sentence was excessive and disproportionate to the crime.
The evangelist was convicted on charges of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence, linked to her money-doubling scheme at her Heaven Way Champion International Ministry in Weija, Greater Accra Region.
