Afigya Kwabre South Shines at Ashantifest Under-17 Football Competition

The District Chief Executive of Afigya Kwabre South, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has commended the district’s team for their impressive victory over Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly Team at this year’s Ashanti festival.

The team emerged victorious in the quarterfinals of the Ashantifest inter-District Under-17 Football Competition, showcasing their skills and determination on the pitch.

Hon. Pearl Ankrah, who kicked off the quarterfinal match, praised the team’s performance, saying it highlights the abundance of talent within the district. She commended the Regional Minister for initiating the competition, which she believes will help nurture young talents and promote unity through football.

“There are talents within various Districts/Municipalities that are hidden, and with the vibrant and energetic Regional Minister Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene’s idea to help nurture young talents, it will help generate and produce good talents for the country,” Hon. Pearl Ankrah said. She emphasized that football has the power to bring people together, saying, “Football brings unity amongst us all.”

The DCE made these remarks during the quarterfinal match between Afigya Kwabre District and Asokore Mampong Municipal, which was held at the Afigya Kwabre District Stadium. The victory has boosted the team’s morale, and they are looking forward to the next stage of the competition.
