The contributions of Mr. Kofi Job and his wife, Dr. Esther Gyebi, cannot be emphasized in a country where economic development, healthcare, and education are of utmost importance. They have left a lasting impression on Ghana’s economy as the founders of the Kofi Job Foundation, especially in the fields of infrastructure, employment, education, health, and religion.
*Changing the Ashanti Region’s Healthcare System*
The donation of more than GH¢3 million to five important Ashanti Region hospitals the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Suntreso Government Hospital, Kumasi South Hospital, Tafo Government Hospital, and the Manhyia District Hospital is one of their most noteworthy accomplishments.
With the help of these donations, the hospitals were able to acquire previously lacking vital equipment, including firefly machines, incubators, and Sepap machines.
The lives of the patients and their families who have benefited from their generosity bear witness to the impact of their donation.
For example, the Manhyia District Hospital, which did not have incubators before, is now able to offer mothers and premature infants vital care.
Ten brand-new Sepap machines, which aid in preterm newborns’ breathing, have also been delivered to the mother and baby ward at Suntreso Government Hospital.
*Helping Patients and Their Families*
Apart from their institutional contributions, Mr. Kofi Job and Dr. Esther Gyebi have also given money to patients and their families who were having trouble with medical expenses. In the past six months, they have paid the bills of more than 1,000 patients through the Kofi Job Foundation, which has helped the hospitals and the patients alike.
*Offering Cancer Patients Hope*
Two young children with childhood cancer at the Kumasi South Hospital had given up since the anticipated cost of operation was more than GH¢100,000. But when Mr. Kofi Job and his wife, Dr. Esther Gyebi, paid them a visit at the facility, their luck changed.
A generous donation of GH¢120,000 was made to the children through the Kofi Job Foundation to cover all of the costs associated with their care.
The families of these youngsters, who had previously given up because of the financial strain, were given new hope by this generous deed.
In addition to providing these families with assistance, the Kofi Job Foundation’s intervention has demonstrated the organization’s dedication to helping those in need.
*Educational Impact*
The influence of the Kofi Job Foundation goes beyond medical care. Numerous deserving individuals nationwide have received scholarships from them in the field of education.
The scholarship given to Mabel Acheampong, a home science student at Presbyterian Technical School in the Ashanti Region, is one noteworthy example. She received GH¢20,000 in immediate support from the foundation, along with a full scholarship to a university.
*Social Protection’s Impact*
The foundation has had a major influence on Ghana’s social protection system, especially with regard to helping the elderly. They spent more than GH¢6 billion (old cedis) in December 2024 to support more than 1,000 widows and those in need. Many elderly people who were without assistance throughout the holiday season were relieved and delighted by this act.
*A Request for Recognition*
Mr. Kofi Job and Dr. Esther Gyebi must be acknowledged as national assets due to their outstanding contributions to Ghana’s growth.
Their unselfish efforts to make Ghanaians’ lives better are evidence of their dedication to the development and prosperity of the country. Their positive deeds must therefore be recognized and encouraged in order to encourage others to follow in their footsteps.
