Suame Interchange project is a hoax and has not received approval from Parliament – Dr. Ato Forson Revealed…….

Dr. Ato Forson, the minority leader in Parliament, has called the current Suame Interchange a charade by the NPP government to garner Ashanti votes. Dr. Ato Forson stated during an appearance on Otec FM’s afternoon political talk show Dwabrem that no contract agreement had been presented to the parliament house for approval.

However, he pushed the NPP to produce records demonstrating that the project does, in fact, have a contract. “The Suame Interchange is solely intended to garner Ashanti votes.”

He informed host Dok. Cash, “Let me tell you this, parliament hasn’t approved any approval for the project.”

When the two-phase project is finished, it should reduce traffic, travel time, and hazards by lowering the number of traffic accidents.

The first phase includes extending portions of the ring road, a four-tier junction at Suame, an underpass at Abrepo Junction, and a flyover at Krofrom Junction.

In phase two, overpasses will be built at Abusuakruwa Junction, Magazine New Road Junction, and Anomangye Junction.

The Offinso Road will be widened into a three-lane dual carriageway, and 15 km of local roads will be improved at specific crossings.

M/S Grupo Dizmar of Spain and Rango Construction Limited, a Ghanaian company, are building the interchange, while Rango Construction Company Limited, a Ghanaian company, will build the complementary road component.

The Ministry of Roads and Highways, through the Department of Urban Roads, is in charge of overseeing the entire project.

President Akufo-Addo stated during the sod-cutting ceremony that the interchange and the accompanying road project would significantly improve the region’s traffic situation, lessen the ongoing congestion around the Suame Roundabout during peak hours, and enhance urban mobility within the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area.

He gave the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the contractors the responsibility of ensuring that the country received value for its money and that the deadlines were properly met.
