Seventeen( 17 ) Zongo Communities in the Ashanti Region has expressed their unflinching support for the Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia urging all Muslims to consider the crucial role he played in developing the zongo communities and vote massively for him in the December 7th Presidential and Parliamentary polls.
The group chairman, Imam Sharif Alhassan, underscores the significance of Dr. Bawumia’s leadership since he became the vice president as prudent to the development of this country, especially people living in the Zongo communities.
According to Alhassan, the prime core objective of their grouping is to promote truce and unity among Ghanaians and above that, elevating Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the Presidential status.
This, he noted, would help Muslims and Ghanaians as a whole. However, he pointed out the contributions of Dr. Bawumia to the Zongo communities, mentioned the upgrading of central mosque, the Tamale Mosque and other facilities that have projected the image of Islam.
“Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia is a true Muslim who understands and respects the beliefs and doctrine of Islam, committed to projecting the image of Zongo communities.”
He told the media that, the 17 communities are well focused not to satisfied their interest, but to champion Ghanaian interest. Hence, they appeal to all and sundry to rally behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for him to achieve his Presidential ambitions.
