Preserve Your Identity to Guard Against Cyber Threat – MTN CIO CAUTIONED..

Bernard Acquah, the Chief Information Officer of MTN Ghana, stressed the vital significance of Cyber Security in the current digital era and urged people to treat the matter seriously.

He emphasized that a large number of people are still ignorant of the dangers and are therefore prime targets for hackers.

Speaking at the October 28, 2024, MTN Bright Conversations Cyber Security Month event with the theme “Navigating the Digital World Safely: Awareness, Action, Assurance,” Acquah took the stage.

The event featured a live studio audience and focused on raising awareness about online safety.

He issued a warning against carelessly disclosing personal information, saying that doing so makes one more susceptible to online attacks.

“It’s essential to protect your identity online and on social media to shield yourself from potential attacks,” Acquah advised.

To help individuals safeguard their identities, he recommended several practical measures, such as turning off Wi-Fi when in public spaces.

He cautioned that giving out any kind of identification can put people in danger since thieves frequently use it against them.

He restated, “Enable ‘Two-Factor Authentication’ and modify your ‘Privacy Settings,’ for enhanced security,” emphasizing the necessity of taking preventative measures to guarantee online safety.
