Ashanti Regional Minister introduces the New Chairman of the Lands Commission to the Asantehene.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been formally notified by Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene that Baffour Owusu Bediako, the Domeabra hene, has been appointed Chairman of the newly established Ashanti Regional Lands Commission.

The introduction happened yesterday, July 2, 2025, in the Manhyia Palace. In addition, the Sabronum hene, Daasebre Kofi Asante Mensah, was presented to the Asantehene as the representative of the Regional House of Chiefs on the Board during the meeting.

It is anticipated that these appointments will be very important to the Ashanti Region’s land administration and management.

A delegation comprising Hon. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana, the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources; Prof. Owusu Ansah, the Executive Secretary of the Regional Lands Commission; and Mr. Peter Osei Owusu, the Lands Officer of the Ashanti Regional Lands Commission, attended the meeting.

An important step towards guaranteeing efficient land management and administration in the area was the reorganisation of the Ashanti Regional Lands Commission.

It is anticipated that the new administration would collaborate extensively with interested parties to resolve land-related concerns and advance development.
