After Asante Kotoko defeated Dreams FC 4-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the mayor of Kumasi paid a surprise visit to the team’s locker room.
He sent his sincere gratitude to the technical team and players for their outstanding achievement.
The Hon. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi donated to the squad as a show of support and promised to be there when Kotoko plays GoldStars in Bibiani on Sunday. He was also very upbeat about the team’s prospects of quickly making a comeback to continental play.
In order to attract more fans back to the stadium, the mayor urged the team to stay focused and win their remaining league games.
He added that in order to encourage fan engagement in Kotoko’s events and reignite the club’s fervour, he and the Ashanti Regional Minister will start touring the several Circles, or supporters’ organisations.
